A Gulf Coast charter, measured before it spent.
Reel Adventure Charters runs fishing trips out of Pensacola, Florida, on four boats with four captains. The engagement started on 2026-08-19, covering optimization plus social. Week one was measurement, not spend: every channel that could send a booking was read before a dollar went into ads.
- Looked fine
- Bookings open on the website and on third-party sites.
- Actually
- Some of those listings were still taking deposits for two boats retired from the fleet, and the Business Profile phone rang a captain’s personal cell.
- What changed
- One tracked business line in place of a captain’s personal cell, an email on every missed call, online booking, and a Google Ads launch measured from day one.
- Result
- Google reviews 8 → 11 at 5.0★ in four days. Lead results publish when they are earned.
What I found by measuring first
The business’s own third-party listings were still selling trips on two boats that had left the fleet. A customer could pay a deposit for a boat that could not sail. And the phone number on the Google Business Profile rang one captain’s personal cell, so a call to the business depended on who happened to answer. Neither problem shows up in a website audit. Both show up when you follow the path a customer actually takes.
What I built
- A rebuilt homepage and area pages, so the site says what the charter does and where, in words search engines and AI answer engines can quote.
- Search groundwork with structured data, so Google reads the business details as structured facts, not guesses.
- One tracked phone line for the business, in place of a captain’s personal cell, with an email alert on every missed call.
- Online booking on the site.
- Google Ads, launched 2026-09-27, with every Book-button and call tap counted from the first day.

Run a charter or a tour? Here is what this looks like for you.
Most charters sell through their own site and two or three listing sites at once, and nobody checks all of them against the real fleet and the real phone. Start there: follow the customer’s path, fix what is quietly broken, then buy ads on top of it and count every tap. A free Digital Media Audit maps what your business needs.
